Bogolan Music

La compilation "Bogolan Music" a pour but d’établir le parcours des plus grands artistes maliens et internationaux ayant séjournés au studio ainsi que des talents de la nouvelle génération. Elle regroupera deux CD audio, un DVD.

Plusieurs évènements accompagneront  la sortie du disque :

• Une exposition photo « Dia any Foly : les clichés de la musique malienne » avec le Centre Culturel Français de Bamako, la cité nationale de l’histoire de l’immigration et le photographe malien Mohamed Camara. Ce projet  d’expos photos vise à apporter un nouveau regard sur la musique malienne  contemporaine à travers la photographie mais également sur le rôle de la diaspora dans la diffusion des cultures du monde.
• Un DVD retracera l’histoire du studio via des images d’archives et des interviews d’artistes, de producteurs, de musiciens, d’ingénieurs du son du Mali et d’ailleurs. A travers le studio, chacun réagira sur l’histoire de la musique malienne contemporaine et la relation du Mali avec le monde.

• Un documentaire portrait du Binôme Yves Wernert et Issa Bagayoko réalisé par Stéphane Legall-Villiker sera diffusé sur France Télévision (France 3, France 5, France Ô) en octobre 2009. Ce 26 minutes reprendra les grandes lignes du DVD avec un focus sur l’un des fondateurs du studio : Yves Wernert.

The Studio Bogolan is a center of the Malian music and also attracts numerous international artists who are interest by Africa. Ten years after its foundation by regretted Ali Farka Touré, the anniversary of the Studio Bogolan is the opportunity to call back in what Mali is for the African music, a door opened on the world
The compilation  "Bogolan Music" redraws the way of the biggest malian and international artists having recorded in the studio as well as the talentuous singers of the new generation. It includes two CD and a DVD.
Several events will accompany the release of the two CD
 An exposure of photographies " Dia any Foly" ,  pictures of the Malian Music
 A DVD will redraw the story of the studio by interviews of artists, producers, musicians, sound engineers.
This project will bring a new glance on the contemporary malian music through the photography but also on the role of the Diaspora in the world cultures
